Trauma and “Touchy Spots”
What is trauma?
Trauma is a human response to past or present mental, physical and/or emotional injuries.
Over-reacting regularly to events or people may be one indication that trauma is present. It may feel as if someone or something is “pushing your button.” That button is what I refer to as a “touchy spot.”
Do you have “touchy spots”?
Trauma creates “touchy spots.”
If one of these spots is touched, you may lash out verbally or physically, do harm to yourself, or recoil and collapse into a fetal pose. These actions damage relationships and impact your ability to function effectively.
I can help.
Trauma reactions are a message that parts inside of us need restoration and reconciliation.
Together, we will decipher those messages to learn what is needed to heal those “touchy spots.” As we do so, you’ll find yourself feeling more peaceful and able to work on reconciliation with those whom you’ve hurt or with those who have hurt you. You can think of this whole picture as a giant ministry of reconciliation.
